How do we do Search Engine Optimization?

The first step to any successful marketing campaign is to fully understand the goals of the company. The second step is to analyze every aspect of the current state of the company’s website:

  • Content optimization
  • On-site SEO analysis
  • Current keyword rankings
  • Has the website been recently penalized?
  • Current backlink profile

After analyzing the current state of your website, we make sure that we are focusing on the keywords that will convert into customers once you start ranking better than your competitors on Google. Then we get to work! We do on-site SEO optimization of the website and the content, and then focus on the crucial part – the website’s back-link profile.

There are two types of SEO that we focus on: Organic SEO and Local SEO.

Organic SEO is the process of getting your website to rank in the top results when users are searching specific keywords on Google, Yahoo and Bing. Local SEO is the process of getting your website to rank in the top of local search and in the maps section of the search. We utilize both SEO’s to get your business out in front of the competition in the rankings and get you more ROI. At Local Blitz Marketing, we care about what we do, but most of all we are good at what we do. Local Blitz Marketing is here to serve San Diego business’ and help them thrive in the digital marketplace.

Why SEO?

Search engine optimization is essential because:

  • The majority of search engines users are more likely to choose one of the top 5 suggestions in the results page so to take advantage of this and gain visitors to your web site or customers to your on-line store you need to rank as higher as possible.
  • SEO is not only about search engines but good SEO practices improve the user experience and usability of a web site.
  • User’s trust search engines and having a presence in the top positions for the keywords the user is searching increases the web site’s trust.
  • SEO is also good for the social promotion of your web site. People who find your web site by searching Google or Yahoo are more likely to promote it on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or other social media channels.

On Page SEO Factors

What are On-Page Factors?

There are several on-page factors that affect search engine rankings. These include:

Content of Page

The content of a page is what makes it worthy of a search result position. It is what the user came to see and is extremely important to the search engines. It is super important to create good content. So what is good content? From an SEO perspective, all good content has two attributes. Good content must supply a demand and must be linkable.

Good content supplies a demand:

Just like the world’s markets, information is affected by supply and demand. The best content is that which does the best job of supplying the largest demand. It might take the form of a youtube video that is supplying to a large group of technologists or it might be a Wikipedia article that explains to the world the definition of Web 2.0. It can be a video, an image, a sound, or text, but it must supply a demand in order to be considered good content.

Good content is linked:

From an SEO perspective, there is no difference between the best and worst content on the Internet if it is not linkable. If people can’t link to it, search engines will be very unlikely to rank it, and as a result the content won’t drive traffic to the given website. Unfortunately, this happens a lot more often than one might think. A few examples of this include: AJAX-powered image slide shows, content only accessible after logging in, and content that can’t be reproduced or shared. Content that doesn’t supply a demand or is not linkable is bad in the eyes of the search engines-and most likely some people, too.

On- page SEO is the practice of optimizing individual web pages in order to rank higher and earn more relevant traffic in search engines. On- page refers to both the content and HTML source code of a page that can be optimized, as opposed to off- page SEO which refers to links and other external signals.

Off-site SEO

Besides the changes you can do to your web site, so that it ranks higher. Another way to improve your web site’s ranking position is by
using off-site SEO techniques.

Off-site SEO is generally known as link building but we at local blitz prefer to use the term “website boosting” since a proper way to promote a web site involves much more methods and techniques than building links.

In general, search engines are trying to find the most important pages of the web and show those first when a user enters a search query. One of the factors to determine the position a web page will appear in the results is the number of incoming links.

Incoming links are a signal of trust and depending from where the links are coming, they can greatly affect your ranking position (either positively if the links are coming from well-known and trusted sites or negatively if they are paid links, article directories, link farms etc.).

An Ideally Optimized Web Page

An ideal web page should do all of the following:

  • Be hyper-relevant to a specific topic (usually a product or single object)
    • Include subject in title tag
    • Include subject in URL
    • Include subject in image alt text
    • Specify subject several times throughout text content
  • Provide unique content about a given subject
  • Link back to its category page
  • Link back to its subcategory page (If applicable)
  • Link back to its homepage (normally accomplished with an image link showing the website logo on the top left of a page)
